Food Pantry

Our Butler County Food Pantry works to reduce the high rate of food insecurity in Butler County. (Over fifty percent of students in David City’s public school system qualify for free or reduced meals.)  Bridging Our Community is partnered with the Food Bank of Lincoln to purchase groceries and additional items are received from the US Dept. of Agriculture.  We provide boxes of nutritious foods to individuals and families in need of assistance on temporary or ongoing monthly basis. The pantry boxes can be obtained by making an appointment for pick up at our pantry location. Delivery is available to those that are home bound.

WHO WE ARE

Bridging Our Community (BOC) is a private, non-governmental, non profit organization.

We operate with a 100% volunteer board and staff.  This means all funding goes to support our community services.

We are supported through our Thrift Store sales as well as fundraising, individual and business donations as well as local grants.

SUPPORT US

Monetary donations can be mailed to our pantry location.(See the contact info at the bottom of this page) Food & supplies and resellable household and personal items can also be donated. Please call in advance to assure the need for items and that we have the space to store your donations until distributions can be made.

GET INVOLVED

We gladly welcome and appreciate volunteers from a few hours per month to a few hours per week.

Contact us to see when and where help is required.

Our volunteers can help with the physical upkeep of the store and pantry, sorting donations,  minding the store sales, they can also assist the Food Bank of Lincoln at various Mobile Food Pantry (food truck) deliveries in David City and other nearby communities.

Volunteer with us and become a part of the change you want to see in the community. Your time and effort can make a real difference in the lives of those in need.
